Hello! My name is Bethany and I’m a journalist, editor, and communications expert with a deep affinity for the em dash and a fraught relationship with the Oxford comma.
I’m currently a freelance writer and most recently worked as associate editor of business news at Business Insider, where I edited and assigned daily stories and managed our weekend coverage. I was also previously a retail reporter at BI, covering consumer culture and the evolution of the retail industry in the digital age. As a journalist, I’ve covered a wide variety of topics and my work has been published in The New York Times, The Washington Post, Vox, Deadspin, Cosmopolitan, and Vogue, among others.
